August Update…

Hey Ya’ll I have been so busy since April I completely forgot to update my blog until my wonderful friend Jonathon at work reminded me thats this blog not very informative at the current moment so here I am updating you on my life and Just for Fun!

Since April, I have ended my teaching career and decided to pursue my dreams in Event Planning full force!  Just for Fun turned out to be much more than I expected and I am now my own business!

I’ve thrown weekly brunches at Crave in Mt Pleasant with my friend Lynn who gracious takes my place when I can’t be present and does a superb job filling in for me and creating those weekly invites.  Brunch is every Sunday at 1030am you don’t need an invite just show up and tell them your looking for me or Lynn. Brunch started out as about 10 of my close friends going to Crave every week for their $11 brunch special and then one day I said “lets get some new friends to come” so we started inviting our “twitter friends” as I like to call them who now are fabulous real life friends! Each week got bigger and bigger and most recently we had 41 people attend!  It’s a great place to come and sit down and meet some friendly, happy people who I promise you will become friends with and the next time you come to brunch you feel like you’ve known them forever!  I’d like to thank my devoted friends for coming each week and to Crave for letting us take over their restaurant every Sunday morning at 1030am!  The next HUGE brunch will be Aug 22nd and it will be “Brandy’s Birthday Hangover Brunch” BE THERE!  Look for hashtag #SFbrunch on twitter or lynn and I’s facebook accounts for event invites!   Open to all with or without invite!!

Next Alysa and I, with the help of several other friends threw Brooke a fabulous 27th birthday party with glitter, glam, and all the works!  It was a blast!  You can see photos of it here! It was a night of entertainment provided by the talented Trevor Donovan spinning all the hits, Crave serving up endless drinks, and all our pals dancing the night away all while being in the company of the beautiful, talented, birthday girl Brooke Ryan!

Most recently, I’ve been asked to be the event planner for the Ryan White Foundation’s 10 Year Anniversary Gala!  I am honored to have been asked to plan such a fabulous event for such a wonderful cause!  I am looking forward to collaborating with several Charleston business’s for this event….Trevor of D&M Productions which was voted the #1 DJ Company in Charleston! Brad of Social which if you have not been to Social you are missing out their food is to die for the their happy hour is amazing!  Photography by the beautiful Kristin Burke who knows what its like to be on both sides of the camera, as the photog and the model!  All these fabulous people will come together at Michael Mitchell Interiors located at 438 King Street where Michael has recently opened a beautiful art gallery!

Selfishly, I’ve been busy spending alot of time planning my own little Backyard Birthday Bash for my 26th birthday on August 25th!  All these things have occupied so much of my time I promise you all another Just for Fun happy hour will be right around the corner as soon as August is over!  I also promise to be more attentive to this blog.

If  anyone you know is interested in having someone plan/assist in their event let me know!  I am having a blast making my dreams come true and I want to thank all of you who have been apart of it!  Stay tuned this isn’t the last time you’ve heard from me! xo

Just For Fun…Squeeze

Cheers-Just For Fun

So the first Just For Fun event happened at Squeeze downtown on East Bay from 6-8pm on a Thursday night, a perfect pregame for your “Thirsty Thursday.”   We all had so much fun. One a scale of 1-10 I’d give this happy hour a 9, super mega fun.  I wanna thank Raey Roundtree for letting us taking over his establishment for 2 hours to party it up!  I also wanna thank Brooke Ryan from 95sx, Hunter Wilson from Carolina Nightlife, Joe Quinn from Vent Magazine, Dj Natty Heavy, and all my other wonderful friends and guest for enjoying this first happy hour of many to come with me!

Why? …Just For Fun

Let me start by telling you the story of the birth of Just For Fun…

One day while walking the bridge with one of my favorite girlfriends, Brooke, I said we never all get together anymore just for fun, I need to do something about this.  So later in the week while I was teaching the youth of America, one of the dads in my class said “He y I always see you outside my bar but you never come in” I immediately thought, “hmmmm why don’t I throw a happy hour there, I’ve been looking for a reason to get my friends together, Just For Fun.”  Right then and there the idea was born.
